Frontal Projection – a Second Life in the Cinema production

Frontal Projection – a Second Life in the Cinema production

Actually, is there any prospect ahead for the frontal projection technology in the cinema?

The mere fact that the panoramic projection is apparently back on track with the big cinema is sustained with the evidence that throughout the 2017-2018 period, several Russian film-makers employed projection panoramic setting to shoot their movies. Our team was instrumental in implementing such panoramic frontal projection for one of the projects.

On 30 March, at the AMEDIA film studio, Design Dossier Technical Director Kirill Voskresensky delivered a report on the possibilities afforded to the shooting crew by the panoramic frontal projection and outlined its advantages as compared against the chroma key shooting or shooting on location.

Let’s start with the definition what the Frontal or Panoramic Projection is. All is quite simple: it is a technology for pavilion shooting, whereby the video image is projected onto the screen located behind the actors.
