Day of Science at the State Kremlin Palace. Multimedia Installations and Video Design for the Stage

On 5 February 2018, the State Kremlin Palace played host to the grand event – the Day of Science of the city of Moscow, it was also the venue for the awards presented to the young scientists, laureates of the Award of the Moscow City Government. The event was attended by 6,000 guests representing the higher educational establishments, science organizations, business enterprises, design offices, made up of merited members of the science community and young researchers. The awards were conferred upon laureates by Moscow Mayor Sergey Sobyanin, Minister of Education and Science Olga Vassilieva, President of the Russian Academy of Sciences Alexander Sergeyev and Rector of the Moscow State University Viktor Sadovnichy.

The Design Dossier team members provided a full range of services for this event:

  • We executed a large-scale interactive installation entitled The Art of Science at the Heraldic Foyer of the State Kremlin Palace;
  • We provided a video design for the stage suitable for the formalities and festive concert dedicated to the Day of Science in Moscow.

Overall, we created over 70 videos for the stage, including profiles of the laureates of the Young Scholar Award. The performers taking part in the concert included such popular entertainers as Dmitry Malikov, Larisa Dolina, Soso Pavliashvili, Sergey Mazayev, Karina Serbina, Yulianna Karaulova, Kvatro group, A’Studio group and others. A specific feature about the scenic design was that there were 19 screens of various dimensions located on cubes – it was necessary to envisage the video design for each individual unit.

The Art of Science Interactive Installation embraced three thematic software programs brought together through a volumetric silhouette of the Moscow State University building:

  • The Great Scholars of Moscow Timeline;
  • Young Scholars of Russia;
  • Educational Guessing Game.
