The process of interactive model creation

Customers often ask what stages the process of creating an AR-enabled interactive model can be divided into. Currently our team is involved in such a project so we’ve decided to tell you how it’s done.

  1. Developing the marketing objective and its approval by the customer. At this stage, it’s very important to determine whether we should focus predominantly preliminary on information or image creation. For example, our new project is image-oriented. It means that we have to inducework on the WOW effect from the very moment the user starts interacting with the software. So the quality of visual content will be one of the fundamental objectives for our team.
  2. Developing and approving the design concept, selecting technological solutions. At this stage, we select the optimal best suitable technology solutions (for immersion into the augmented reality, reality tracking, selecting the suitable controllers for content management, fine tuning to match the customer’s objectives).
  3. Model creation. This stage is the most time- and effort consuming, that’s why the virtual content is created simultaneously with producing the interactive model.
  4. Approving the virtual content and creating the final version. This stage is the most intense in terms of interaction with the customer, because it involves approving the content and making necessary amendments. It’s important that the customer approves every, even the slightest details of the visual, graphic and audio content, the ergonomics of control interfaces and text content, as well as translation of the content to the requested languages..
  5. Validation and sign-off. At this final stage, the finalized installation is stress tested to imitate the workload typical for the exhibition. Optimization and stability issues are found and eliminated.
