Panoramic Projection as an Alternative to Chroma Key Technology and Shooting on Location

On 30 March 2018, at the AMEDIA film studio, Design Dossier Technical Director Kirill Voskresensky delivers a report addressing the topic “Panoramic Projection as an Alternative to Chroma Key Technology and Shooting on Location”.

His address is scheduled to coincide with the CPS (Cinema Production Service)-2018 – the 15th International Exhibition of Equipment, Services and New Technologies for the Cinema and TV Production.

The difficulties that can come to the surface as part of the Chroma Key shooting process are known to all, however, today there is an absolutely adequate alternative to the green pavilion.

What problems are due to be addressed?

  1. How can the Chroma Key + CG shooting be replaced with the help of projection?
  2. Immersiveness – what are the advantages offered by projection to the actors and the shooting crew?
  3. How does the use of projection impact the timeframe and budget of the cinema production project?
  4. Don’t we need shooting on location any longer?

All of these questions and other questions are due to be answered by the speaker. Video cases derived from the projects implemented with the employment of projection technologies are scheduled for demonstration.

CPS-2018 is the largest event in the field of cinema and TV production, it is a platform for the companies to present their advanced cinema production technologies to the professional community, and a venue for the industry masters to conduct their master classes.
